Tango Social Dance (Milonga)!

We host Argentine Tango Dance Parties (Milongas) twice a month on the 2nd & 4th Saturday of every month -- EXCEPT IN MAY WHEN WE WILL HOLD OUR "4TH SATURDAY" MILONGA ON THE FIFTH SATURDAY (May 31) BECAUSE THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED DATE (May 23) WOULD CONFLICT WITH THE JAZZ FESTIVAL!

These special events are a great introduction to the tango. From 8:00-9:00 p.m., there is a beginning lesson (it’s a one-time lesson, not part of any ongoing series) designed for those who are completely new to the tango. Following that, we host a dance from 9:00 p.m. until midnight. Cost is only $15 (sometimes $20 when there is live music or a tango performance, etc.) and includes the lesson, the dance that follows, and all the appetizers and refreshments. Plus, if you purchase your tickets online, you get $5 off, so for only $10 you get the lesson and the dance! It's the best deal in town!

It’s also a great introduction to the tango because you get a chance to learn a little tango, dance a little, and meet some of the people in Sacramento who are already dancing the tango--you get to talk to them over the punch bowl, maybe even dance with them. It's a chance to find out if the tango is for you without committing yourself to a monthlong series. They're also just plain fun!!!

Saturday, April 26, 2008 -- Beginning tango lesson from 8:00-9:00 p.m.; dance from 9:00 - midnight. Cost: $15 for lesson and dance; $10 for dance only. Both include refreshments and appetizers.

DIFFERENT DATE FOR MAY MILONGAS! Normally, our milongas are held on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month. For May, 2008, however, we will hold our milongas on the 2nd and 5th Saturday of the month, since the 4th Saturday would occur during Jazz Fest, and it just makes parking a little too difficult for the milonga.

• SATURDAY, MAY 10 – WITH SPECIAL GUEST MAESTROS OSCAR MANDAGARAN AND GEORGINA VARGAS! Oscar and Georgina will teach an introductory tango lesson from 8:00-9:00 p.m. (doors open at 7:45), then we'll dance from 9:00-midnight! Cost is $15 for lesson & dance; $10 for dance only. Both include hors d'oeuvres, refreshments, and dance.
