
Georgina Vargas
In 1999, Georgina Vargas began her career as a professional tango dancer in association with Gustavo Saenz. She has performed and taught tango in the United States, Italy, Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Spain, and, of course, Argentina. With Gustavo Saenz founded the dance company "Con Sabor a Tango" (The Flavor of Tango) and participated in the San Pantaleo Festival.
In 2001, Georgina with Gustavo presented the show "Noches Argentinias" in Tokyo, and as a result of their success received special recognition by the Argentine Embassy as an "important couple in presenting and conveying the spirit of Argentine tango." Georgina performed in the show "Poesia del Tango" (The Poetry of Tango), a combination of dance, music and poetry which toured Italy, and in 2002 performed in the show "Tango Eterno" (The Eternal Tango), making her debut in this show as a tango singer.
In 2005, Georgina opened a tango studio in San Telmo, Buenos Aires, with Gustavo Saenz. She performed with the show "Boulevard Tango" in Bologna with the Company of Tango Argentine. She organized the party-show "Tango x 2" in Rome with Miguel Angel Zotto, Soledad Rivero and Ruben Juarez as special guest. In the show she sang in accompaniment to Zotto and Rivero's dancing. She also participated in the Second International Tango Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia.
In 2006, Georgina recorded her first CD "Por Aquells Tangos" with the musicians Alfredo Montoya at the piano, Eduardo Malaguarnera playing violin, Ramon Montoya at contrabass and Orlando Trujillo playing the bandoneon. She performed a one month singing engagement in March at Sabor a Tango. Sang and danced in Italy during April and May at the Tango Torino Festival, the Roma Tango festival, and also in Pescara, Ortona and Milan. This was in accompaniment of the Ensemble Hiperion with the famous bandoneonist Luiz Stazo (Sexteto Mayor).
In June of 2006 she began to dance in partnership with Oscar Mandagaran giving performances, shows and teaching workshops at various tango theaters and milongas in Buenos Aires. Taught tango with Oscar Mandagaran in Japan in July, and then continued performances in Buenos Aires. She has performed at many tango theaters and tango cafes in Buenos Aires such as La Cumparsita, El Vesuvio, El Dante, La Esquina de Osvaldo Pugliese and Sabor a Tango.
Oscar Mandagaran
Oscar Mandagaran began his career as a professional dancer of tango and folk dance in 1988. He was a member of the tango company “Señor Tango” in Buenos Aires for 2 years. He performed as a member of the cast in the film “Tango” under the direction of Carlos Saura. In 1998, Oscar started a 5-year partnership with Natalia Hills dancing with the tango company of “Forever Tango” directed by Luis Bravo. In 2003 he danced with the company of “Forever Tango” in the show “Malambo” in San Francisco and other cities in California. He has performed all over the world, including New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Boston, Miami, and Los Angeles (in the US); Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec (in Canada); Mexico City, Acapulco, and Monterey (in Mexico); Pusan and Soul (in Korea); Tokyo, Hiroshima, Fukuka, Nagoya, Yokohama, Osaka, (in Japan); and many other cities in Italy, France, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, and England.
