Bios of Marcelo Molina & Carolina Vazquez

Marcelo Molina recently won 1st place in the stage category at the first ever Argentine Tango championship USA 2011 with his partner Carolina Vazquez.
In 1997 Marcelo began his dance studies in the province of Cordoba, Argentina. He joined the artistic dance company ‘Sangre Latina’ where he studied and developed different dances such as; Caribbean rhythms, Folklore, Latin-American and especially Argentine Tango.
With ‘Sangre Latina’ he toured to different countries such as Cuba, Italy and across Argentina. He formed part of the show “Viaje Por El Mundo” and then after “Tango in Broadway” which was entirely an Argentine Tango spectacle with the participation of Ruben Juarez’s, one of the most important renowned singers in the last decades.
Tango in Broadway takes place in the billboards of current spectacles of the streets of Buenos Aires.
In 2007 Marcelo continued to improve his tango dance technique in Buenos Aires where he formed part of the tango dance troupe of “El Viejo Almacen”, which is one of the most ancient prestigious tango houses in Buenos Aires.
In 2008 Marcelo won the Tango Championship of his own home town Cordoba for the World Tango Championship.
He began his tour to Italy, Spain, France and across Latin America. He also took part of the tour to Bolivia with the “Show Dorado Tango” in 2010.
Since 2008 Marcelo began his tour to the USA and has performed in different cities such as San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles, Seattle, Fresno etc., giving classes and exhibitions of Argentine Tango.
Carolina's Bio
Carolina Vazquez recently won 1st place in the stage category at the first ever Argentine Tango championship USA 2011 with her partner and professor Marcelo Molina.
As a little girl Carolina Vazquez has always had a passion for dancing. She began her dance studies in 1995 in Fresno, California developing techniques in Latin rhythms.
In 2002 Carolina began her ballet, jazz and modern dance technique at Fresno City College and in 2004 transferred to California State University Fresno where she received her Bachelors degree in Theatre Arts in Dance.
Carolina auditioned and was selected to be part of the Portable Dance Troupe at CSUF were she performed ballet, jazz and modern dance choreographies by instructors Kenneth Balint and Ruth Griffin.
Carolina also enrolled in the University Dance Theater (UDT) and was given the opportunity to choreograph several of her own pieces and perform them at the end of the year at the CSUF Dance Theatre Showcase.
In 2005 she continued developing her ballroom dance technique with ballroom champion/ instructor Hugo Villanueva. In 2006 she began teaching salsa classes at Dianna’s Studio of Dance.
In 2008 she began her extensive training in Argentine Tango with her professor Marcelo Molina. In 2009-2010 she continued her studies in Argentine Tango in Cordoba, Argentina were she developed technique in choreography stage tango and salon.
Since then Carolina Vazquez has accompanied Marcelo Molina in his tour through the USA and has traveled and performed in different cities in California, assisting him in classes, workshops and performing exhibitions (from 2008-2011).
