"Expressing the Feminine" Workshops with Alisa Shubb!
Ladies, here is a wonderful opportunity for you! Alisa Shubb is one of the original tango dancers in Sacramento. She has beautiful technique and is an excellent teacher. She is teaching three workshops (for women only!) in April focusing on "Developing the Feminine in Tango: a three part women’s workshop":

In Alisa's own words, "For many, tango is beautiful for its fascinating interplay of man, woman & music, each with its separate and distinctly exciting roles. This workshop will explore all aspects of the woman’s role, and the unique essence she brings to the dance. The three-part series has been specifically designed for the Sacramento community based on discussion, observation, and feedback from local dancers and visiting maestros. It is unlike any tango instruction you have ever had before and will be relevant whether you have just started or have been dancing for years. In a combination of seminar and dance workshop, you will unlock the attitudes and techniques needed to increase your grace, poise, and patience as a feminine partner while heightening your satisfaction and pleasure of dancing tango."

April 13, 2008, 2:30-4:00: Part 1 – The Feminine Role Posture, walking, breath and a certain je ne sais quoi (which will be explained in the workshop) contribute to the feminine grace necessary from the moment you begin a tango. We know what it means to be a woman . . . discover what it means to embody the feminine.

April 20, 2008, 2:30-4:00: Part 2 – Feminine & Masculine together The act of embrace & following are about creating a union between masculine and feminine forces. Discover the “truth” about following, following technique, and the part the feminine partner plays in creating the dance.

April 27, 2008, 2:30-4:00: Part 3 – Feminine Musical Interpretation The essence of embellishment comes from the music. Learn the many ways we can appreciate the music as feminine dancers, and can express our own interpretation and feelings without interrupting connection or flow.

Each class will build off the next, although it will be possible to take just one or two. We have priced it aggressively to encourage ladies to take all three classes and to give you this opportunity to study with this lovely dancer and teacher: Cost is $20 for one class, $30 for two, and $35 for all three.

Come learn the tango secrets of the feminine partner!
