Our Next Dance, Saturday, February 25, 2012 -- "MARDI GRAS MILONGA!"

We host our "Tango del Rio" Milongas (the social dance in Argentine Tango is called a "milonga") twice a month on the 2nd & 4th Saturday of every month. These milongas are a taste of Buenos Aires -- we play traditional tango music for the first three hours. At midnight, we switch to alternative music for a whole new feel to the tango. Come get a taste of Buenos Aires en el norte!

Cost is $10 (sometimes $20-$25 when there is live music or a tango performance, etc.) and includes some refreshments.

• Saturday, February 25, 2012 -- MARDI GRAS MILONGA! Celebrate Mardi Gras -- tango style! Think wild ... think beads ... think masks ... think purple green and gold! We have a special gift of a mardi gras necklace for the first 30 attendees (and no, you don't have to flash to get it!) 9:00 pm - 1:00 am. DJ: Mike Bohan. Cost is $10.

• Saturday, March 10, 2012 -- THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF AWESOMENESS MILONGA -- (And, no, I am not making this up!) According to dayofawesomeness.com website, "The International Day of Awesomeness is a celebration of awesomeness. People are awesome every day, frequently don't realize it, and their feats of awesomeness are rarely recognized. We aim to fix that, with a special day to both perform and celebrate feats of awesomeness!" So come celebrate the awesomeness of tango as well as your own awesomeness! 9:00 pm - 1:00 am. DJ: Donna Tielsch. Cost is $10.

• Saturday, March 24, 2012 -- FIRST DAY OF SPRING MILONGA! Technically, the vernal equinox (first day of spring) happens on March 20. We're celebrating spring -- tango style -- on our 4th Saturday milonga, which falls on the 24th. March 24 does also happen to be National Sideboob Day -- I swear I am not making this stuff up! -- but we felt that was a bit much, so we opted for a "First Day of Spring Milonga!" Of course, I'm sure the men wouldn't object if a little sideboob was included!! Celebrate the first day of spring -- tango style! 9:00 pm - 1:00 am. Cost is $10.

(FYI: Equinoxes occur when the axis of rotation of the earth [i.e. the line form the N to S poles] is exactly parallel to the direction of motion of the earth around the sun. This happens on just two days of the year, the spring and autumn equinoxes. This means that day length is exactly the same [12 hours] at all points on the earth's surface on these days (except right at each pole, where it will be about to change from permanent light to dark, or vice versa).

• Saturday, April 14, 2012 -- OUR 12 YEAR ANNIVERSARY MILONGA! Yes, 12 years of tango right here at TBTR! In this economy it is increasingly difficult to find businesses still here after 12 years -- so let's celebrate this beautiful dance that unites us all! We'll have empanadas and flan and mate! 9:00 pm - 1:00 am. DJ: Donna Tielsch. Cost is $10.

• Saturday, April 28, 2012 -- KISS AND TANGO MILONGA! April 28 is always KISS-YOUR-MATE day ... as if you needed an opportunity to share a kiss or two! Here are some tips and rules for the day:

1) There is no upper limit to the number of kisses you can share today. 2) It is highly recommended that you limit your kisses to just one mate. 3) If you don't have a mate, it's perfectly acceptable to kiss someone who is not formally your mate. Hey, you never know. This day may be a beginning....... 4) You can kiss your mate wherever you want. 5) Giving candy or flowers is not required. But we predict that those who do will receive more kisses.

We like to kiss in tango anyway ... so come and enjoy "KISS AND TANGO!" Kisses given freely! 9:00 pm - 1:00 am. Cost is $10.

• Saturday, May 12, 2012 -- LEATHER AND LACE MILONGA! Let there be leather ... and let there be lace ... or even a combination of the two! Have some fun! 9:00 pm - 1:00 am. DJ: Donna Tielsch. Cost is $10.
