What kind of shoes should I wear?
As for shoes, both ladies & men should wear leather-soled shoes if possible; leather soles allow you to turn or pivot more easily; rubber soles tend to make you “stick” to the floor, and then turns/pivots can present a hazard to your knees. For ladies, a low heel that is comfortable and stays on your foot well is best, especially if it has an ankle strap and covered toes. While there are places around town like Capezios that sell dance shoes, these are the ballroom-style shoes and really do not have the sexy look or appeal of Argentine Tango shoes. There’s something about the arch of the foot, that sexy stiletto, that teasing ankle strap … yes, the only place you can shoes like these is Argentina, Columbia, or Uruguay. About twice a year we place a huge group order from a fabulous custom-shoe maker in Argentina. You can always place an order with us (we get discounts by ordering in a group).
In the meantime, you probably have something that will work, but if not, try Nordstrom’s rack or even Marshall’s and look for a leather-soled dress heel with an ankle strap and covered toes, if possible.
