Workshops with Santiago Croce & Amy Lincoln Feb. 25-26, 2012!
Tango by the River is delighted to announce the return of two beautiful dancers and teachers of the tango: Santiago Croce & Amy Lincoln. All of Santiago & Amy's classes are based in the Villa Urquiza Tango Salon style of Argentine Tango, conserving the close embrace and focusing on the elegance and clarity of the movements with a strong technical background.
In all of their classes, Santiago & Amy teach a basic and complete concept of the movements that we use in tango. The work begins respecting the practical structures of tango to later be able to have more freedom, fluidity and creativity. Their classes often start with technique exercises which are then adapted to sequences.

SATURDAY, February 25, 2012 2:00-3:30 p.m. -- TECHNIQUE CLASS FOR LEADERS AND FOLLOWERS (All Levels: Beginners, Intermediates, & Advanced) -- Learn personal technique for each role's adornments (boleos, lapices, taps, caricias, etc). This class will follow a practice-based format emphasizing repetitive exercises and drills. Elements covered will be: posture, balance, velocity, foot articulation, precise musicality, sharp and clean embellishments.
SATURDAY, February 25, 2012 4:00-5:30 p.m. -- FULL TANGO SALON -- Applying all the technique learned in the prior class before to classic Tango salon sequences.
SUNDAY, February 26, 2012 2:00-3:30 p.m. -- BECOMING THE FOLLOWER/LEADER THAT EVERYONE WANTS TO DANCE WITH -- We'll work under the concept of "The Active Follower" that we introduced in last year's teaching, as we focus on understand the subtleties that can make our dance stand out from the status quo.
SUNDAY, February 26, 2012 4:00-5:30 p.m. -- TURNS: the final class.
