Master Teachers & Dancers of Argentine Tango!

JULIA GORIN and JONATAN BAEZ (Argentina) are professional dancers, teachers and choreographers.  They dance and teach Tango Salon, also Tango Escenario (stage tango) and Argentine Folklore. Jonatan and Julia regularly tour with seminars, master classes, performances, and festivals all over the world. Their unique method of teaching is the quintessence of their experience not only in tango, but also in Argentine folklore, modern and contemporary ballet, jazz, drama theater, research in the field of conscious movement, dance therapy and their own developments.

Sunday Special Seminar 
March 15, 2020 ~ 2:30-4:00 pm

"VIP TECHNIQUE SEMINAR” We will work on different techniques: for walking, pivots, giros, boleos, ganchos, embellishments. First individually in two groups: men with Jonatan and women with Julia. The last 30 minutes of the seminar we will partner up to try the learned details dancing in couples. Cost is $30 per person.



March 28 & 29, 2020

Saturday, March 28, 2020 ~ 7:45-8:45 pm (immediately before the Tango by the River Milonga)

"Pre-Milonga SEMINAR ON VALS" – Rhythms and interesting movements mostly used in tango-vals. This workshop happens immediately before the milonga. Cost is $20 for the workshop plus $10 for the milonga. 

Sunday Special Seminar, March 29, 2020 ~ 2:30-4:00 pm.

MUSICALITY. PRACTICAL ASPECTS”: Phrases and beat. How to dance not only beat but also pauses. Rhythm and different rhythmical structures (beat, half beat, double beat, syncopation, rhythmical combinations). Melody. Structure of tango music. Different orchestras. How to find your own way of moving to the music. How to let the music enter into your dance and how to make your body move differently with different music.”  (Int/Advanced)  Cost is $30 per person. 

March 19 & 26, 2020

Thursdays’ group seminars, March 19 & 26 - 7:00-8:30 pm.

“Breaking Stereotypes” - Special interesting combinations to spice up your dance. We will take a usual movement, which is commonly used on the dance floor and change it completely, with an absolutely unexpected resolution. (Int/Advanced)  Cost is $30 per person.

Julia & Jonatan are available for private lessons from March 14 - March 29 at $110/hour with both Julia & Jonatan or $100/hour for either instructor separately.

BIO OF JULIA & JONATAN:


Jonatan has been dancing Argentine tango since 1996, and has danced Argentine folklore since he was eight years old. He also performed with the National Folklore Ballet of Argentina. He was the recipient of many prestigious dance awards, and winner of various regional and national competitions in tango and folklore. 


Julia has been dancing tango since 2000, and has studied music (piano) and classical and modern ballet since she was six years old. She was also the founder of the tango community in Cyprus. 
Together Jonatan Baez & Julia Gorin have been dancing since 2011.


Living in Buenos Aires, where they worked in such tango shows, as the famous Café Tortoni, Añoranzas Tango, the legendary “Sabor a Tango”, "Tanguera", "Che Tango", and others, they perform at the most prestigious milongas (Salon Canning, Porteño y Bailarin, El Beso, Gricel, Sunderland, La Nacional, Confitería Ideal, La Baldosa, etc.) and also with different orchestras: Color Tango, Los Reyes del Tango, Sans Sousi, Bajofondo, Sexteto Milonguero, Romantica Milonguera and many others.  Jonatan and Julia have taught in such schools in Buenos Aires as "Asociación de Maestros Coreógrafos y bailarines de tango (Geba)", "La Floreada de Alejandra Mantiñan", La Escuela “Obelisco Tango”, and La Escuela Argentina de Tango.
