About Tango by the River
Tango by the River originally opened at 128 J Street on April 7, 2000, under the parent company Visions of Eden, LLC. On May 13, 2020, we filed our articles of incorporation and became a non-profit. We maintained our nonprofit status through the end of 2024, at which time we have closed the nonprofit and have once again put TBTR under the parent company of Visions of Eden. We very much appreciate Visions of Eden for its years of financial support, and we encourage all of our students and supporters to shop Visions of Eden, both in person at 126 J Street in Old Sacramento, or online at visions-eden.com.

Tango by the River was founded on a simple belief: dance has the power to transform lives. Argentine tango is a beautiful conversation without words—a dance built on connection, trust, creativity, and presence.
